Taubenheim Gelbvieh, Amherst, Neb., held their 24th annual production sale February 3rd, 2014 at the ranch. Warmer weather along with great cattle brought buyers to the ranch. The offering of stout and functional bulls, and attractive females made a lot of friends on sale day.
TAU Outright162A, a homozygous black son of Connealy Consensus 7229 caught a lot of attention in the yards in Denver, and his potential as a Balancer® A.I. sire was recognized by many on sale day. When the gavel dropped on this powerhouse of a bull Jeff Swanson of Oxford, NE was the winning bidder at $13,500.
TAU Jackie 42A, the 2013 People’s Choice Balancer® Bull Futurity Runner-up and NWSS pen bull opened the sale and went home with Todd Ibach of Sumner, Neb. He is a February 2nd, 2013 homozygous black, homozygous polled son of TAU Final Countdown 42A. After active bidding, he sold for $12,500.
TAU Mantle 128A another homozygous black Balancer® pen bull from Denver also sired by Connealy Consensus 7229 found a new home with Lynn Estergard of Oconto, NE at $12,000.
Rounding out the bulls that sold above $10,000 was TAU Express 134A ET. 134A is a HYEK Black Impact 3960N son that garnered a lot of attention in the purebred pen show in Denver, and this stout herdsire prospect will be roaming the pastures of Bruce Sprangler a repeat customer from Callaway, NE. 134A sold for $11,000
TAU Mars 127A, homozygous black 38% Balancer® sired by Connealy Consensus 7229 caught a lot of attention sale day. After vigorous bidding by many the Dannehl Family of Bertrand, NE came away with 127A at $8,000.
Seven bred heifers sold for $3,000, of which four went to Herink Gelbvieh of Clutier, IA, two to Coyote Ridge Ranch of Oberlin, KS, and Cib’s Gelbvieh of Clutier, IA picked one out of the great set.
The top yearling female brought $1,400, TAU Ms. Consensus 395A went to the Herink family, great repeat customers from Clutier, IA.
Volume buyers were Don Maclennan of Byers, CO, Herink Gelbvieh of Clutier, IA, Coyote Ridge Ranch of Oberlin, KS and Paul Wade of Gainesville, MO.
